On December 15, the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in St. Petersburg confirmed that two police officers were injured as a result of the collapse of the facade of a house on Mytninskaya Street.
As specified in the department, law enforcement officers received minor injuries. Assistance was provided to them on the spot, after which they continued their service.
Information about the incident will be passed on to the investigating authorities of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
The incident became known earlier that day. According to the REN TV channel, the victims were diagnosed with concussions and bruises, their condition is assessed as moderate. They were taken to the Mariinsky hospital, the media specified.
The incident was tentatively connected with a breakthrough of a protective mesh from a bay window located on the second floor of building 46/8 on 4th Sovetskaya. As a result, the plaster layer collapsed.
At the same time, according to the management of ZhKS No. 3, which is in charge of the management of the building, the building was considered to approach the time of major repairs. The initiator of this was the management company, which provided all the necessary documents to update the address list for the overhaul of the facades of houses for 2021.
