The chairman of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia, director Nikita Mikhalkov accused documentary filmmaker Akim Salbiev of forging a signature in order to receive a prize from the head of Ossetia, which became known on Wednesday, December 15.
He announced this during the congress of the Union of Cinematographers. According to the filmmaker, Salbiev twice forged his signature as the head of the union, after which he handed over the documents to the head of the republic with a request to issue him an award. At the same time, in 2015, the director received a medal “For the Glory of Ossetia”.
According to Mikhalkov, the fact of forging signatures was proved by handwriting examination.
After such information, members of the Union of Cinematographers proposed to exclude Salbiev from the organization. However, the head of the union did not support the initiative, not wanting this decision to become the main agenda of the congress.
For his part, Salbiev denies any involvement in document forgery.
“I didn’t think that Nikita Sergeevich could do that. The letter to the head of the republic bears his surname. Only Nikita Sergeevich’s apparatus has it. But revenge for such a report at the congress is stronger, “he said in an interview with Izvestia.
On December 13, Mikhalkov was re-elected to the post of chairman of the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation. An open vote was held at the 11th Congress of the organization at the Central House of Cinematographers. The director expressed his gratitude, emphasizing the importance of the unity of the union members and the professionalism of each of them.
