The police detained a Moscow City Duma deputy from the Yabloko faction, Sergei Mitrokhin, during a meeting with voters on Thursday, December 16.

“I was told that I allegedly violated public order,” they quoted him in TASS.

In relation to the deputy, a protocol was drawn up under the article “Violation by a participant of a public event of the established procedure for holding a meeting, rally, demonstration, march or picket”, which provides for compulsory work for up to 40 hours or a fine.

On March 12, Sergei Mitrokhin was detained and taken to the police station in the Tverskoy district for participating in an unauthorized rally in Moscow on January 23.

On July 5, 2018, Mitrokhin was fined 20 thousand rubles for repeated violation of order during a solo picket near the State Duma building. A member of the Yabloko party held a one-man picket outside the building of the lower house of the Russian parliament on June 19. In 2017, the court sentenced him to a fine of 15 thousand rubles for a similar offense.
