The Nestor business owned by Günther Neukamp and Thomas Stadler from Burgenland’s Halbturn, which has only been on the market since 2021, has quickly made a big name for itself in the local wine landscape. The Blue Zweigelt from Nestor is, alongside the Pinot Gris and Chardonnay, one of the best in the region and reflects the Neusiedlersee terroir to perfection.

The idea of the Neukamp/Stadler duo was to bring several winemakers from completely different areas on board in order to promote the diversity of the terroir with the associated grape varieties internationally. Bundling diversity is the guiding principle that is in the foreground.

The Gumpoldskirchen Burgundy specialist Heinrich Hartl, who is a figurehead of the thermal region with his Pinot Noir and who has set himself the goal of putting Rotgipfler on the international stage, was enthusiastic and happy to come on board.

Also taking part is the Weinviertel resident Fritz Rieder, who is well connected all over the world and is known as Weinrieder. With its powerful character wines of Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay, it is a fixture on the wine lists of star establishments in the best restaurants in the world.

The quartet is completed by Wachau newcomer shooting star Simon Gattinger from Loiben. His declared goal is to tease out what is special about the Wachau top locations Loibenberg and Klostersatz and to bring the flavor profile of the locations into the glass. And he achieves this with the precision of a Swiss watch.

So we found 4 winemakers who are not too big, who have a similar philosophy of winemaking and who each work sustainably and close to nature.

Under the umbrella of Wineembassy.at/Winecollection Austria, forces are pooled and we appear together towards international sales partners, retailers, wine shop operators and restaurateurs. And the focus is always on the respective terroir and the varieties that match it.

On the English-language website, every member can fill the categories Sparkling-Semi Sparkling Wines, Classic white wines, Rich white wines, Rosé wines, Classic & elegant Red, Rich & Bold Wines, Alternative Wines and Sweet Prädikat Wines.

A truly ambitious project that we would like to wish all the best for.
