Both firefighters were hospitalized in the All-Russian Center for Emergency and Radiation Medicine named after A.M. Nikiforov EMERCOM of the Russian Federation. They have burns to their bodies and limbs.
A source in the military-industrial complex told Izvestia that the corvette of the project 20385 “Agile” corvette under construction was not damaged in the fire, but the superstructure and the main antenna-mast device of the ship were seriously damaged.
The press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in St. Petersburg said that 89 people and 22 pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing.
The Provorny missile corvette is the second ship of Project 20385. It is equipped with cruise missiles, an ultra-long-range anti-aircraft system and a powerful radar capable of detecting targets hundreds of kilometers away.
