The situation with coffee supplies to the Russian Federation is assessed as stable. This was reported on Saturday, December 18, to journalists in the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture.
“The volume of coffee imports to Russia since the beginning of the year amounted to 230 thousand tons. At present, the situation with the supply of this product is assessed as stable, and the ministry does not expect any interruptions in the future,” the ministry officials said.
The department also stressed that several domestic producers have their own plantations in Colombia and the Dominican Republic. Also in Russia there is a zero duty on the import of green coffee.
On December 1, world coffee prices reached their 2011 highs. Arabica coffee futures for December delivery hit $ 2.33 a pound, according to London-based ICE, the highest since 2011. Analysts say market tensions will remain until 2023 due to poor harvests and supply chain delays.
