In the Krasnodar Territory, law enforcement officers detained the former Deputy Prime Minister of Crimea Vladimir Serov, who was on the wanted list. This was reported on Saturday, December 18, by RIA Novosti, citing a source.

In April 2019, local media reported that a case was opened against the official over the offer of mediation in bribery. Later, the head of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, confirmed that Serov was wanted. The criminal case against him could be related to the period when Serov served as head of the Sudak administration until July 2017.

Vladimir Serov served as Deputy Prime Minister of Crimea from July 2017 to March 2018.

Earlier, on November 18, the Minister of Culture of Crimea Arina Novoselskaya was charged with taking a bribe in the amount of 25 million rubles. As part of the investigation, searches took place in the apartment and at the place of work of the head of the department. The official was detained, she was charged with accepting a bribe on an especially large scale.

On the same day, it was reported that the minister was being interrogated in connection with the loss of money during the reconstruction of a puppet theater in Simferopol that was demolished in 2018.

On November 2, FSB officers detained the head of the administration of the city of Belogorsk in Crimea. As the FSB Directorate for the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol clarified, the head of Belogorsk was detained while receiving a bribe in the amount of 1.4 million rubles.

On October 27, it became known that searches were being carried out in the administration of Kerch (Republic of Crimea). According to local media reports, law enforcement officers are checking the distribution of budget funds for the improvement of public areas.

On October 5, the mayor of Yevpatoria, Roman Tikhonchuk, was detained. According to the source, the mayor is charged with the following articles: organization of a criminal community, abuse of power and fraud.

At the same time, at the end of September, the dismissed Deputy Prime Minister of Crimea Yevgeny Kabanov and ex-Minister of Construction and Architecture Mikhail Khramov were also detained. According to the source, they are suspected of fraud, while Kabanov may be accused of abuse of power with serious consequences, fraud and corruption.
