The Investigative Department of the RF IC for the Oryol Region on Saturday, December 18, announced the initiation of criminal cases against the head of the traffic police department of the region, Alexander Korshunov, and two of his subordinates for fraud.
The statement notes that the proceedings were initiated on the basis of materials submitted by the FSB of Russia for the Oryol region.
From 2017 to 2021, the defendants worked part-time as associate professors at one of the departments of the Oryol Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs named after V.V. Lukyanov. Over the course of five years, they did not conduct all types of training sessions that corresponded to the curriculum, while receiving full salaries and deceiving the leadership of the university.
Searches and investigative actions are currently underway. It is noted that the police face up to six years in prison.
Earlier, on December 2, Colonel Igor Gotsulyak, head of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Rostokino metropolitan area, was detained in Moscow. He is suspected of fraud and bribery mediation. In March and April 2019, Gotsulyak, together with other persons, received from a man about 84.5 million rubles for assistance in appointing him to the post of head or deputy head of the Federal Tax Service for the Samara Region.
