Moscow will host the first in Russia international online film festival Patriki Film Festival, the chairman of the jury will be American film director, screenwriter and producer Darren Aronofsky. Izvestia became aware of this on Monday, December 20.
The festival will take place in Moscow in the summer of 2022. The event will feature premieres of films and TV series of Russian and foreign production. All works of the participants will be available for free online viewing during the entire period of the festival.
“I was delighted to have accepted the invitation to chair the jury at the Patriki Film Festival in 2022. The festival encourages authors from all over the world to send in their entries in order to compete for the main prize “Grand Prix”. The jury of the competition will review all the works and choose the winner in the summer of 2022, ”said Aronofsky.
According to one of the festival’s founders, producer Alexei Bokov, Patriki Film Festival has grown from a local city event into an international festival. The new proposed online format will allow authors to show their work to the whole world.
“In this sense, our choice of Darren Aronofsky as the chairman of the jury is very consonant with the concept of the festival, which opens up wide opportunities for the author’s artistic expression. Aronofsky feels the spirit of the times and certainly has a strong name, thanks to which the contestants have a chance to get a direct ticket to Hollywood, ”he stressed.
On October 16, the Lampa social cinema festival opened in Moscow. As part of the event, the capital will show films shot in Russia, Germany, Israel, Great Britain, USA, India and other countries. The festival ran until October 18th.
The Lampa Festival has existed since 2014. It was then that it was opened in Perm. Every year contestants from all over the planet become its participants. During the festival, more than 9 thousand short films have submitted applications for participation. Screenings of paintings and accompanying events of the festival are held not only in Russia, but also abroad, in particular at the UN venues.
