Putin named the priority tasks of the security agencies

Russian President Vladimir Putin called the continuation of offensive tactics in the work of counterintelligence and the protection of state borders as the priority tasks of the security agencies. This became known on Monday, December 20.

“Among other priority tasks is the continuation of offensive tactics in counterintelligence and countering corruption, ensuring reliable protection of state borders,” he said in a video message of congratulations to security officials published by the Zvezda TV channel.

The President noted that the Russians expect from the special services “new successes in the fight against extremism.”

“This is a direct threat to the unity of Russia. It is necessary to strictly suppress any manifestations of xenophobia, social and religious enmity, to prevent the involvement of people, especially young people, in illegal anti-state activities, ”the head of state said.

In the same address, Vladimir Putin said that the role of foreign intelligence in ensuring Russia’s security is growing. According to him, “first of all, this concerns the prompt and high-quality analysis of international information, the development of forecasts for the development of the situation in the world as a whole and in individual regions.”
