Defender of the Nizhnekamsk MHL Reactor club – the Neftekhimik youth team – 19-year-old Nikita Mokeev died in an accident. This was announced on Monday, December 20, by the NTR 24 TV channel.
The accident occurred on the afternoon of December 20 on the 121st kilometer of the Kazan-Orenburg highway.
According to preliminary data, Mokeev is driving a Lada Vesta car. Having driven into the oncoming lane, he collided with a Scania truck. From the impact, the car was thrown into a ditch, the hockey player died on the spot.
It is also noted that there was a passenger in the car, she was hospitalized.
Earlier, on March 16, the defender of the St. Petersburg club of the Youth Hockey League (MHL) Dynamo Timur Fayzutdinov died at the age of 19 in intensive care after being hit by a puck. The hockey player was injured on March 12 in the away match of the 1/8 playoffs of the MHL against Lokomotiv Yaroslavl.
As Faizutdinov’s father wrote in social networks, the blow fell on the carotid artery. The athlete was hospitalized in one of the hospitals in Yaroslavl. He was in a coma; it was not possible to save Fayzutdinov.
