The preliminary cause of the accident involving Tsivilev has become known

The preliminary cause of the accident with the participation of the governor of Kuzbass Sergei Tsivilev was difficult weather conditions. This was announced on Tuesday, December 21, by a source of Izvestia.

Earlier that day, the press service of the government of the Kemerovo region confirmed that Tsivilev’s official car at about 05:00 Moscow time had an accident on the Kemerovo-Novokuznetsk highway.

As Izvestia was told, no one was killed as a result of the incident. Three people were injured, all of them are conscious, they received medical assistance on the spot. The governor himself was not injured in the road accident. After the accident, he continued his journey in one of the cars of the cortege.

It was noted that Tsivilev was on his way to meet with the families of those killed at the Listvyazhnaya mine.

Earlier, on Tuesday, the Sibirmedia Telegram channel reported that Tsivilev’s car was involved in a massive accident with heavy trucks. The footage that appeared on the Web shows that at least two heavy trucks, a passenger car and an SUV were also involved in the accident. In this case, the passenger car suffered the most.

According to Izvestia’s information, the Mercedes minibus, in which Tsivilev presumably was traveling, had already got into a serious accident in October this year.

The accident at the Listvyazhnaya mine occurred on the morning of November 25. The accident killed 51 people, including five rescuers. Another 58 were hospitalized. In total, there were 285 people in the mine.

On the fact of the incident, a criminal case was initiated under Part 2 of Art. 217 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Violation of industrial safety requirements for hazardous production facilities, resulting in the death of a person by negligence”), as well as a criminal case on the fact of negligence of employees of the Rostekhnadzor department.
