When visiting one of the saunas in Ulan-Ude, 17 children were injured. This was reported on December 21 at the Investigation Department of the RF IC for Buryatia.
The department began a pre-investigation check of the circumstances of the incident. As established, the incident took place in the spa complex on Avtomobilistov Avenue on December 19.
Children received chemical burns to the mucous membranes of the eyes, respiratory tract and skin while swimming in the pool. An increased concentration of disinfectants in the water could lead to injuries.
“The company immediately left the institution, several of the children required medical and medical assistance,” the investigators noted.
Samples were taken from the pool, forensic medical examinations were scheduled.
On December 13, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case into the poisoning of people with chlorine vapor in a private pool in the village of Kulseitovo in Kazan. Six victims were hospitalized, three are undergoing outpatient treatment.
The prosecutor’s office is checking information about the poisoning of people with chlorine vapors.
In October, a criminal case was opened over the poisoning of children with chlorine vapor in a swimming pool in the Elabuga region of the Republic of Tatarstan. Children born in 2010 and 2018 were poisoned with chlorine vapors while in the pool of a sports and recreation center in the village of Khlystovo.
