Two out of five Russian servicemen caught in an avalanche in South Ossetia have died. On Tuesday, December 21, the Ministry of Health of the republic told TASS about it.
“Died [второй]were not taken to the hospital, ”the message says.
As the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the republic, Atsamaz Bestouts, said earlier, another soldier was found at the scene with no signs of life.
At the moment, there are two servicemen in the hospital with frostbite of the limbs, their condition is assessed as moderate.
The search for another victim during the avalanche continues.
Five servicemen were hit by an avalanche in the Roki Tunnel area earlier that day. As the Ministry of Emergency Situations noted in an interview with Izvestia, the incident did not occur on the territory of Russia. At that time, they could not clarify the affiliation of the servicemen in the department.
As Interfax was told in the emergency department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of South Ossetia, two avalanches covered the building in which there were Russian soldiers guarding the Roki tunnel.
