Two Russian servicemen caught in an avalanche in South Ossetia were hospitalized. This was announced on Tuesday, December 21, by the deputy head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the republic, Atsamaz Bestouts.

“Two Russian soldiers caught in an avalanche at the post in the Roki tunnel were removed from the avalanches, they are alive and sent to the republican hospital in Tskhinvali. Another one was found, he is getting in touch, ”he explained to TASS.

The search for two more soldiers continues, Bestouts added.

Earlier that day, five servicemen were hit by an avalanche near the Roki tunnel. As the Ministry of Emergency Situations noted in an interview with Izvestia, the incident did not occur on the territory of Russia. At that time, they could not clarify the affiliation of the servicemen in the department.

As Interfax was told in the emergency department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of South Ossetia, two avalanches covered the building in which there were Russian soldiers guarding the Roki tunnel.
