Rescuers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations extinguished the fire on the section of the Urengoy-Pomary-Uzhgorod gas pipeline in the Chelyabinsk region. This was reported on Wednesday, December 22, in the press service of the regional Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
“At 06:55 (04:55 Moscow time) the combustion was liquidated,” the department noted.
Nobody was hurt, traffic on the federal highway is not blocked, added to the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
As TASS was told in the public relations service and the media of Gazprom transgaz Yekaterinburg, the fire at the gas pipeline branch did not affect the gas supply to consumers.
It is clarified that the damaged section of the gas pipeline was promptly disconnected, and restoration work is currently underway.
The fire of the gas pipeline section at 1793 km of FAD M5 of the Chebarkul region, two kilometers from the village of Borovoe near Chelyabinsk, was reported earlier on Wednesday. This section is a branch from the high-pressure main gas pipeline with a diameter of 500 mm called Chebarkul – Katav-Ivanovsk, it is located underground at a depth of 1 m.
