A center for the production of large-size helicopter and aircraft-type drones was built in Dubna. The main production workshops of the Kronstadt company, as well as the Dubna Machine-Building Plant named after Fedorov (DMZ), which is part of it, will be located at the site of the enterprise. The press service of the company announced this on Wednesday, December 22.
“This is the first aircraft plant built in post-Soviet Russia,” the company noted.
Construction lasted from April to December this year. By now, the work in the production building has been fully completed. It will house a parts manufacturing workshop and a paint department, as well as aggregate and final assembly. Now the plant is carrying out commissioning of the purchased equipment.
In particular, the DMZ will begin to make control points for drone complexes, including gliders and the ground part. The first assembly will begin in December.
Also, the company “Kronshtadt” carried out the improvement of the territory and repaired 14 buildings of the machine-building plant, where work will be carried out for both enterprises, according to the TV channel “360”.
On November 16, the general director of the Kronstadt company, Sergei Bogatikov, announced that the organization had begun the creation of the first prototype of the newest Sirius strike drone. According to him, a prototype Sirius is already being assembled at the company’s plant in Moscow.
In April, it was reported that the production will be environmentally friendly and quiet. The new enterprise will primarily be engaged in the production of the Inokhodets strike drones. According to experts, now this direction is extremely important “for ensuring the country’s defense capability, as well as for the development of the corresponding segment in the international arms market,” reports RT. The plant will provide jobs for 1.5 thousand residents of the Moscow region, according to the TV channel “Zvezda”.
