The authorities of Ulan-Ude on Thursday, December 23, declared an emergency situation (ES) due to a fire at CHPP-1 – the oldest combined heat and power plant in Buryatia.
“An emergency situation has been declared in Ulan-Ude in connection with an accident at the TPP-1,” the city administration said in a statement on its Instagram page.
According to the press service of PJSC “TGC-14” at the Ulan-Ude TPP-1 at 3:27 a short circuit occurred, followed by a fire in the cable compartment 6A, which led to the shutdown of boilers 6,7,8,9 and turbine generator 6 and 7 …
Now operational headquarters are working at the accident site and in urban areas, the administration said.
The fire was reported earlier on Thursday by the GUMChS in the Republic of Buryatia. According to Izvestia, there was an interruption in the supply of fuel and fuel oil to one of the units of the CHPP.
The fire was eliminated by the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and restoration work is underway. Circulation along the heating mains of the city is carried out.
