The fire took place at TPP-1 in Ulan-Ude, the oldest combined heat and power plant in the Republic of Buryatia. This was reported on December 23 on the GUMChS website for the region.
It is clarified that information about the fire was received on Thursday at 03:45 (22:45 Moscow time Wednesday).
“At the time of the arrival of the first fire brigade, there was smoke from the basement of the turbine shop,” the press service of the Emergencies Ministry said.
According to Izvestia, there was an interruption in the supply of fuel and fuel oil to one of the units of the CHPP.
At the moment, an operational group is working at the scene, a meeting of the operational headquarters has been announced.
The administration of the city of Ulan-Ude warned on the VKontakte page about a possible drop in temperature in residential buildings and the lack of hot water.
Earlier, on September 9, a hangar caught fire on the territory of thermal power station No. 2 in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Information about the fire was received at 14:17 local time (05:17 Moscow time). Combustion area is being specified. It is also reported that there are no dead or injured.
