“About folk crafts. Not enough has been done. Mari El and other nearby republics are unique in their own way. I watched how they live, how they use what was left of the previous generations. There is a desire to support, ”he said.
At the same time, when asked by a journalist about the possibility of traveling by train from Yoshkar-Ola to cities such as Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Vladimir in the future, Putin promised to instruct the head of Russian Railways to assess the connectivity of the territory by the railway network in the regions.
“I will definitely talk today or tomorrow with Oleg Valentinovich, the head of Russian Railways. He will receive such an order – to look at the connectivity of these nearby territories, ”the Russian leader noted.
The head of state stressed that Russian Railways operates in market conditions and the company is focused on the economic component. However, according to him, the issue of the connectedness of Russian territories is extremely important for both the economic and humanitarian components of people’s lives.
Earlier, on December 29, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin instructed Russian Railways and the Ministry of Transport to work out the issue of developing public urban transport in the regions using railways.
On November 16, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed an order to allocate over 2.2 billion rubles to support theaters, museums, concert and exhibition halls amid the coronavirus pandemic. On November 11, the prime minister announced that the Russian government would allocate more than 2 billion rubles to support cultural institutions in connection with the pandemic.
2022 was declared the Year of Folk Art in Russia.
