Ten new and reconstructed stations of the Moscow Central Diameters (MCD) are planned to open in 2022. This was announced on Thursday, December 23, by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin during the opening of the new Matveevskaya station of the future MCD-4.
He noted that a lot of work was completed in 2021: the construction of new additional railway tracks, overpasses, overpasses as part of the construction and reconstruction for the construction of MCD-3 and MCD-4. In addition, eight new modern railway stations have been built and reconstructed, writes “Moscow 24”.
Oleg Belozerov, General Director of Russian Railways, who was also present at the opening, stressed that each new transport facility in Moscow is unique.
“At these facilities, new technical solutions are already being applied, which, perhaps, were not available at the previous ones. Plans for the next year are even more ambitious, ”he said.
During the reconstruction of the Matveevskaya station, a modern city station was equipped with awnings and infrared heaters. Two new platforms were equipped with awnings to protect passengers from rain and snow, the website kp.ru writes.
It is assumed that the new station will increase the comfort of travel for over 50 thousand people who live within a radius of 1.2 km.
Reconstruction of the pedestrian crossing is underway, which will be extended to General Dorokhov Avenue. The work is planned to be completed in mid-2022, according to the Moscow city news agency.
In 2023–2024, two new diameters of the surface metro MCD-3 and MCD-4 will be opened in Moscow. According to him, since 2011, 100 new metro and MCC stations have been opened. Sobyanin stressed that the Moscow metro network has grown by 1.5 times.
On December 23, Sobyanin approved a project for the improvement of territories at two stations of the MCD-1 – “Kuntsevskaya” and “Slavyansky Boulevard”. The total area of the improvement will be 128.8 hectares. Modern public transport stops, taxi ranks, parking lots for bicycles and cars will appear near the Kuntsevskaya and Slavyansky Boulevard stations.
