Hollywood version of the film “Irony of Fate, or Enjoy Your Bath!” directed by Marius Weisberg will be released on Netflix on December 31.
The American film is called About Fate. The role of Lukashin in it will be performed by the actor Thomas Mann, known from the TV series “Fargo”. Unlike the Soviet version, the American hero is only 30 years old in the story, not 40 years old.
The female lead starred Emma Roberts, while the character of Hippolytus in the Netflix project was embodied by the British actor of Chinese descent Lewis Tan.
In April, Weisberg clarified that the idea of the original film turned out to be relevant in the modern realities of the United States. According to him, the initiative to shoot the English-language version of the film in Hollywood was perceived positively.
Russian director Marius Weisberg is known to the audience as the creator of the comedies Love in the City and Grandmother of Easy Behavior.
The film “The Irony of Fate” by Eldar Ryazanov was first shown on January 1, 1976.
