Almost half of Russia’s residents consider the New Year holidays to be too long. On December 24, Gazeta.Ru was informed about this in the press service of the career portal Myresume.ru based on the results of the survey.
“49.9% of Russian residents are in favor of shortening weekends at the beginning of January. Of these, 16.5% are enough for 3-4 days to rest, 14% – a week, 12.3% – 5-6 days, 5% – 8-9 days, another 2.1% of respondents would have had enough standard two days “, – stated in the results of the study.
At the same time, 55% of the respondents said that they would not be able to fully relax during the New Year holidays.
42.4% of respondents agree with a 10-day weekend, and 6% of survey participants would like to extend their vacation for a few more days, and about 2% want to rest throughout January.
On December 23, it was reported that, according to a survey conducted by online platforms Lamoda and hh.ru, more than half of Russians intend to go to a New Year’s corporate party.
It turned out that the majority of respondents attend New Year’s corporate parties from time to time (41%), another 39% always come to meetings with colleagues. Every second respondent believes that a corporate party is an excellent opportunity to communicate with colleagues in an informal setting, and almost every tenth (9%) admitted that he likes to eat at the expense of the company. Most of them are mass media employees (15%), logisticians (10%) and HR specialists (10%).
More than half of the survey participants are responsible for choosing an image for a New Year’s corporate party. So, every second (61%) is sure that this is a great opportunity to show yourself. Bankers (85%) and accountants (77%) were fans to draw attention to themselves. Least of all, the New Year’s image worries telecom employees (41%) and agricultural workers (47%).
On December 20, Denis Kravchenko, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Economic Policy, expressed the opinion that December 31 should be made a day off on an ongoing basis, since Russians need to prepare for the New Year.
The Federation Council supported this idea. According to the deputy chairman of the committee of the upper house of parliament, Ivan Abramov, according to the current legislation, the administrations of the constituent entities have the right to declare December 31 a day off at their level.
