The head of the region removed from the New Year tree three balls with wishes from the children of the Upper Volga region – 9-year-old Kolya K. from Torzhok, 7-year-old Matvey K. from Likhoslavl and 6-year-old Vova Shch. From Rzhev.
“It is very important for us to be close to those who believe in us and expect a miracle in the New Year. This is significant for children, people dear to us, to whom we want to bring joy, ”said Rudenya.
He added that Matvey dreams of a mobile phone, Vova asked for a Lego set, and Kolya asked for a laptop. “We will try to fulfill these desires before the New Year,” the head of the region promised the children.
In addition, he noted that the wishes of all 38 children from the Tver region – the participants of the action – will be fulfilled.
On December 22, Speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko, within the framework of the “Christmas tree of wishes” campaign, fulfilled the dreams of 13-year-old Maxim and 7-year-old Sophia from St. Petersburg.
The boy dreamed of becoming an electric train driver. Thanks to Matvienko, he was able to go on an excursion at the Moskovsky railway station and get to know the driver, who showed him the express cabin and told him how he was preparing for the flight.
Sophia received a set of constructors from the “Gingerbread House” series, which she dreamed of. The gift was given to the girl by Santa Claus. In gratitude, she read him a New Year’s poem.
The “Christmas tree of wishes” campaign started on November 15th. Such a tree is installed in government offices, volunteer centers, and at major events. The action involves children aged three to 17 years with disabilities or those whose diseases threaten their lives, as well as orphans, children from low-income families and senior citizens with a health condition that threatens life. The role of Santa Claus is played by politicians, businessmen, and also officials.
