Officers of the Moscow police criminal investigation department detained a man who was trying to steal goods from the Metropolis shopping center, and then showed the guards an object that looked like a grenade. This was announced on Sunday, December 26, at the press service of the metropolitan police.
“It took less than two hours for the employees of the criminal investigation department of the capital police to establish the identity of the attacker, he turned out to be a citizen born in 1974, he was detained,” the message says.
According to the police, no one was injured as a result of the incident.
Currently, law enforcement officers are conducting activities aimed at establishing the circumstances of the incident, added to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Earlier on Sunday, the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Moscow reported on the evacuation of visitors to the Metropolis shopping center after reporting an armed man.
It was noted that an unknown person tried to steal the goods. The security guards at the Golden Apple store detained the man and took him to the back room. There, the attacker was offered to pay for the goods, otherwise the police would be called. The man responded to the guards in a rude manner and took out an object resembling a grenade. The guards ran out of the room, the intruder left the room after them.
An investigative and operational group worked on the spot.
