The third test launch of the Angara-A5 heavy launch vehicle was carried out on Monday, December 27, from the Plesetsk test launch site in the Arkhangelsk region. This is reported by the RF Ministry of Defense.
“The combat crew of the Space Forces of the Aerospace Forces carried out a test launch of the Angara-A5 heavy-class carrier rocket with the overall mass model of the payload,” the message says.
As noted in the military department, the rocket was launched at 22:00 from the launch pad # 35 at the Plesetsk cosmodrome. All prelaunch operations and the launch of the space rocket took place in the normal mode. “Angara-A5” was taken for ground support of the Space Forces of the Russian Aerospace Forces.
Dmitry Rogozin, General Director of Roscosmos, congratulated everyone on the successful launch of Angara-A5.

This is the third test launch of the Angara-A5 heavy-class launch vehicle. The previous launch was successfully completed on December 14, 2020.
The detached parts of the launch vehicle, presumably, will fall on the territory of the Kargasoksky, Parabelsky, Kolpashevsky and Verkhneketsky districts of the Tomsk region. Citizens are asked to be careful.
The Angara-A5 is a Russian heavy-class carrier rocket of the Angara family. It is the first heavy launch vehicle developed in Russia after the collapse of the USSR.
