Mother and son died from carbon monoxide poisoning near Ivanovo

Three people were poisoned by carbon monoxide in the Ivanovo region, two died. On Tuesday, December 28, the regional prosecutor’s office announced this on its website.

“According to preliminary data, in one of the apartments of a house on Novaya Street in the village of Sabinovo, Lezhnevsky District, a family was poisoned by carbon monoxide,” the department noted.

A woman and her son were killed. The man was hospitalized.

The district prosecutor’s office, on behalf of the regional prosecutor’s office, began an investigation against LLC Energetik, LLC Lezhnevskaya management company and JSC Gazprom Gazoraspredelenie Ivanovo. They specialize in the maintenance of chimneys and ventilation systems.

Based on its results, they will assess compliance with the legislation when servicing gas equipment.

The day before, four people died of carbon monoxide poisoning near Penza. The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under Part 3 of Art. 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Causing death by negligence to two or more persons”).

On the same day in Tatarstan, two underage children were poisoned by carbon monoxide in an apartment, they were hospitalized.
