The All-Russian Popular Front (ONF) is going to solve the problem of low salaries for school bus drivers in Russian regions in the near future. This was stated by the head of the executive committee of the ONF Mikhail Kuznetsov on Tuesday, December 28.
According to him, low salaries are one of the reasons for the shortage of these specialists.
“One of the issues that we are going to address soon is the problem of wages for school bus drivers. This worries us very much, as we have already received many requests. Do you know how much the average school bus driver gets in the region? The regional minimum wage for specialists in this category is 12-16 thousand rubles, “- said Kuznetsov at a meeting with journalists.
He also explained that often school drivers work simultaneously in educational institutions, as well as plumbers, electricians and locksmiths. In addition, these are mainly citizens of pre-retirement age.
“In the coming years, we will finalize this problem. Now the governors are already beginning to respond to this problem: they either create municipal enterprises or give subsidies, “REN TV reports Kuznetsov as saying.
On December 21, the first deputy head of the Russian presidential administration, Sergei Kiriyenko, said that the ONF is an effective instrument of people’s control, allowing Russian President Vladimir Putin to receive information from the first hand. Earlier in the day, Putin noted that, thanks to the activities of this movement, the effectiveness of the work of the authorities is under control.
On September 1, children’s ombudsman Anna Kuznetsova said that the Russian authorities had allocated 15 billion rubles for the purchase of new school buses for seven regions of the country. She noted that the transportation of schoolchildren on buses must be safe. According to Kuznetsova, this also applies to the training of drivers and medical examinations.
