The peak of passenger traffic at the stations in Moscow and St. Petersburg will be on December 30

The busiest date for transport hubs in Moscow and St. Petersburg for the New Year holidays will be Thursday, December 30. This was announced on Wednesday, December 29, by the press service of the OneTwoTrip service.

Experts predict that on this day almost 33% more tourists will fly from Moscow airports than on other days of December, the website kp.ru reports. The indicator at Domodedovo airport will be 65%, at Sheremetyevo – 50%, RIAMO specifies.

In Zhukovsky, the largest number of passengers will be on December 29, the workload will grow by 65%. No significant changes are expected at Vnukovo.

At the Pulkovo airport in St. Petersburg, passenger traffic is expected to be 20% higher than usual, Gazeta.Ru notes.

At the stations, the peak load will also fall on December 30 – the number of people leaving will grow by 100-150%. In Moscow, the number of people leaving will increase by 103%, in St. Petersburg – by 71%. An exception will be the Paveletsky railway station in the capital, where most of the departures are scheduled for December 29 (+ 147%).

Earlier on December 29, analysts named the most popular destinations in Russia for Christmas holidays. According to RT, Moscow, St. Petersburg and Kazan are in the lead in the ranking. According to experts, the demand for trips to Moscow has grown the most – by 800%. Kaliningrad took the second place in this indicator – 300%.

On December 28, experts named the most profitable period of winter holidays. According to travel agents, the prices for travel, which jumped up on New Year’s Eve, will begin to decline from mid-January, and by February they will fall by 30-40% compared to the holiday prices.
