Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport has been shutting down Terminal F since December 30, the timing of its reopening has not been named. This is stated in a message published on December 29 on the website of the air hub.
“In order to efficiently use the airport infrastructure from 00:00 on December 30, 2021, in connection with the technological re-equipment, terminal F is temporarily closed for passengers,” the message says.
The administration apologized to the passengers for any inconvenience.
As previously reported, the terminal serving international flights will undergo reconstruction, work will take place only inside the building. In particular, specialists will replace the luggage system.
After their completion, in May 2022, Sheremetyevo plans to resume serving passengers on international lines at Terminal C.
After the reconstruction, the terminal’s capacity is expected to grow from 8 to 12.6 million passengers annually.
International Terminal F was built for the 1980 Moscow Olympics.
