Putin scored seven goals in a friendly hockey match with Lukashenka

A friendly hockey match between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko ended on Wednesday, December 29, at the ice palace of the Manezh children’s and youth sports school in Strelna (St. Petersburg). During the game, Putin scored seven goals, and Lukashenka – two.

The heads of state played for the “whites” team and defeated the “reds” with a score of 18: 7. The President of Russia opened the scoring in the third minute, the second goal was scored by Lukashenka.

Putin wore sweater number 11, Lukashenko wore number 1.

The game took place after negotiations between the parties, which took place earlier that day. The meeting lasted for about three hours. The leaders talked at the Constantine Palace in Strelna, discussing topical issues of cooperation between the two states.

In particular, Putin noted that a significant step forward had been made in the development of the Union State in the current year. According to him, Russia and Belarus have also agreed on issues related to finance, tax, customs and fiscal legislation.

Prior to that, on February 7, 2020, the presidents of Russia and Belarus played as part of the same team in a friendly hockey match. The game took place at the Galaktika entertainment center in Krasnaya Polyana. The son of the Belarusian leader Nikolai also took part in the match, he went on the ice at number 35.
