To avoid overeating at night, you should not sit down at the New Year’s table hungry. Margarita Koroleva, doctor of medical sciences, professor of FMBA of Russia, doctor of personalized medicine and nutritionist, spoke about this on Friday, December 31st.
“It’s bad to be hungry on December 31st. A person should approach the New Year’s table with a feeling of satiety and, accordingly, the holiday will be successful, he will not overstay at night and will control his eating behavior, ”TASS said.
If a person decides to be patient before the New Year and not eat anything, and then replenish everything at the same time at the festive table, then this will turn out to be a serious load on the stomach.
“Throughout the day on December 31, you should definitely eat traditionally: breakfast, lunch, and not a late dinner, which is quite dense and rich. The composition should contain both protein and plant fibers, ”said the nutritionist.
According to her, it is best to serve poultry or fish dishes, vegetables and citrus fruits for the New Year’s table. Also, do not overuse champagne.
“After the chimes, you can make a choice in favor of red or white wine, but choose exactly one drink for yourself, which you will use throughout New Year’s Eve,” advised Margarita Koroleva.
On December 30, Candidate of Medical Sciences, gastroenterologist, nutritionist Irina Berezhnaya said that foods containing a lot of salt should be abandoned on New Year’s Eve. She recommended adding more greens and vegetables to the New Year’s menu.
Earlier in the day, nutritionist Margarita Koroleva named the dishes for the Lenten New Year’s table. The specialist noted that fish and seafood are allowed on Christmas fast, so meat ingredients in New Year’s Olivier can be replaced with fish ones: for example, crab sticks or shrimps.
