Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a package of laws on responsibility for non-payment of alimony in full. This became known on Thursday, December 30.
Thus, changes were made to Article 157 of the Criminal Code (“Non-payment of funds for the maintenance of children or disabled parents”). Now the legislative provisions have been adjusted in such a way that the defaulter will be exempted from liability in the event of debt repayment. The corresponding document was published on the official portal of legal information.
Another law supplemented article 5.35.1 of the RF Code of Administrative Offenses. According to the innovation, failure to pay alimony within two months entails liability in the form of correctional labor, arrest for 10-15 days or a fine of 20 thousand rubles.
The relevant laws were approved by the Federation Council on December 21.
