A new thematic train “PosetiKavkaz” has begun to run in the Moscow metro, the press service of the Department of Transport reported on December 31.

The train was launched on the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya metro line.

“Today a new thematic composition“ Visit the Caucasus ”came out in the metro. The authors of the project collected the cultural symbols of the Caucasus and created a large collective image of the region. The team of the board member of the Union of Designers of St. Petersburg David Avakyan worked on the creation of the train.

As noted in the department, the train will operate on the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line until June 2022.

On December 17, the Moscow mayor’s office said that on New Year’s Eve, public transport in Moscow would be free. Thus, there will be no need to pay for travel in the Moscow metro, MCC and ground transport, starting from 20:00 on December 31 and until 06:00 on January 1.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin noted that the city began to create a festive mood by decorating public transport. To create a New Year’s atmosphere, themed buses were released into the streets. Utility workers will decorate all the equipment – about 600 cars in total.
