Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday, December 31, delivered the longest New Year’s address, it lasted 6 minutes 22 seconds and was about 700 words in length.
The first to hear and see the congratulations of the head of state were residents of Kamchatka. We have already celebrated the New Year in these regions.
Putin’s last New Year’s address took six minutes and was 601 words.
Prior to that, the longest address was on December 31, 2013, when the Russian leader spoke for more than four and a half minutes.
During an appeal dated December 31, 2021, the head of state said that the main goal of the authorities is to increase the welfare and incomes of Russians. On the eve of the New Year, as Putin noted, all people are united by the hope for good changes.
The day before, Putin wished the heads of foreign states and governments a Happy New Year and Merry Christmas. In total, more than 70 current and former heads of state, as well as heads of international organizations, received congratulations from the President of Russia.
