Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Tatyana Golikova on Friday, December 31, took part in the Christmas tree of wishes campaign and fulfilled the dream of four-year-old Maxim Krylov from the Moscow region. The boy took a ride in a fire truck.
The day before, Golikova invited the boy with his parents and younger sister Alisa to the Government House. The Deputy Prime Minister gave a short excursion to the guests, wished them a Happy New Year and presented them with gifts. She also introduced the child to the deputy head of the RF Ministry of Emergencies, Andrei Gurovich.
A day later, Maxim went to the fourth fire and rescue unit in Moscow. The boy was able to become a real firefighter for one day, he was put on special equipment and allowed to extinguish the fire with a fire hose.
Earlier, on December 27, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke with 14-year-old Mark from the Moscow region, to whom the head of state presented a guitar on December 21 as part of the “Wish Tree” campaign. The Russian leader also helped the student with the housing issue. Mark told the president that he had already moved to a new apartment and now he had enough space to study music and study.
The all-Russian New Year’s Eve campaign “The Tree of Desires” started on November 15th. The “Christmas tree of desires” is installed in government offices, volunteer centers, and at major events. The action involves children aged three to 17 years with disabilities or those whose diseases threaten their lives, as well as orphans, children from low-income families and senior citizens with a life-threatening health condition. The role of Santa Claus is played by politicians, businessmen, and also officials.
The charitable project “Tree of Desires” is included in the presidential platform “Russia – the Land of Opportunities” and is being held for the fourth time.
