In Irkutsk on Friday, December 31, a fire broke out in a nine-story residential building on Kostychev Street, as a result of which more than 70 people left the building. This was reported by the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
According to the department, at the time of the arrival of the firefighters, the casing of the house in the area of the sixth, seventh and eighth floors was on fire.
According to preliminary data, the fire was caused by the use of pyrotechnics. It is also known that the fire was located on one of the balconies.
Rescuers evacuated 53 people from the building, another 20 left it on their own. A temporary accommodation center has been deployed on the basis of the nearest school.
It is noted that no one was injured as a result of the incident.
Earlier that day, a fire broke out in an abandoned building in Sochi on Pervomayskaya Street. The fire covered an area of 100 square meters. m. 18 rescuers and five pieces of equipment were involved in the elimination of the fire.
