After an accident with a regular bus in the Ryazan region on January 2, a large traffic jam was formed. The Izvestia correspondent specified that the traffic jam stretched for 6 km.
The accident occurred on the 277th km of the P22 “Caspian” highway in the Skopinsky district. The bus hit a rail bridge support. There were at least 50 people in the cabin. According to the latest data, five people died, another 22 were injured, including two minors.
Railway workers arrived at the scene of the accident to check the tracks and supports. It turned out that neither the canvas nor the reinforced concrete support was damaged. However, the speed of trains has been limited so far from 80 to 25 km / h.
As Igor Volkov, the deputy chief auditor for security of the Tula territorial administration of the Moscow railway, explained in an interview with Izvestia, both freight and passenger trains have been allowed through at the moment.
“It’s okay there – he hit it casually, at an angle, maybe fell asleep, no damage [опоры] no. We have already passed both freight and passenger trains, everything is fine, ”Volkov said.
At the same time, he drew attention to the fact that after a detailed examination, the speed of the trains will be restored.
The preliminary cause of the accident with a bus in the Ryazan region was bad weather. According to Izvestia, there is heavy ice in the area of the accident, presumably, the vehicle led and carried it to the support of the railway bridge. There is also a version that the driver could fall asleep while driving.
At the same time, the PKU “Uprdor Moscow – Volgograd” reported that the section of the road where the accident occurred was not covered with ice, the road was treated with an anti-icing compound half an hour before the accident.
Law enforcement officers opened a criminal case under Part 5 of Art. 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Violation of traffic rules, resulting in the death of two or more persons”). A case was also initiated under Part 3 of Art. 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Provision of services that do not meet safety requirements, resulting in the death of two or more persons by negligence”).
