A criminal case on the fact of the sale of goods and products, as well as the provision of services that did not meet safety requirements and resulted in the death of three people, was opened by investigators of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia in the Moscow Region, as it became known on January 3.
“According to preliminary data, on January 2, 2022, in one of the apartments located in the city. Balashikha, the body of a man was found without visible signs of a violent death, his friend was hospitalized from the same apartment in an unconscious state. During the inspection of the place, investigators seized a canister with alcohol-containing products, ”the department said.
A man and a woman were also hospitalized from another apartment in Balashikha, who died from poisoning with an unidentified substance. During the examination of their apartment, the investigators also seized cans of alcohol-containing products.
The investigation established that all the canisters were acquired by the deceased in one place. The composition of the liquid and the reasons for the death of people will be established in the course of forensic and forensic chemical examinations. Interrogations and examinations are being carried out, the place of purchase and the supplier of alcohol-containing products are being established, the investigative department added.
The three dead and one hospitalized after drinking surrogate alcohol in the Moscow region became known on January 2. It was assumed that one man purchased three cans of alcohol-containing liquid and gave one to his acquaintances.
