Nine children hospitalized with suspected chlorine vapor poisoning in Omsk

In Omsk, nine children were in the hospital with suspicion of being sent with chlorine vapors, the regional prosecutor’s office is checking this fact.

“The prosecutor’s office of the Kirovsky district of Omsk organized a check based on information from a medical institution about hospitalization at night of nine minors suspected of being poisoned by chlorine vapors after visiting one of the sports and recreation centers in Omsk on January 2 this year,” the department said on January 3.

According to a TASS source, the night before, several families had a rest in the sports and recreation complex “Paradise Lagoon”. The next morning, the children were hospitalized with signs of chlorine poisoning, the condition of three of them is assessed as moderate.

According to the regional Ministry of Health, some of the patients are planned to be discharged later that day, the rest – within the next two days.

The day before in Magadan, 10 people, including five children, were poisoned by carbon monoxide while in a minibus. Outpatient care was required for all the victims.
