We need to generate a new social contract

Every human being spends his life under three clear rules. Learn, all the time, discover at all times and always develop, for yourself and for others.

It is necessary to develop three virtues, elements or systems of values that allow achieving an adequate social coexistence, with freedom, equality, harmony and prosperity. An agreement, a pact with freedoms, rights and obligations for all the inhabitants of our society.

First cardinal, innate and reciprocal element. We must all make sense of: Humanity: What is humanity? A very ambiguous word, but my thinking leads me to define it as A set of qualities and virtues of human beings. It is knowing how to put yourself in someone else’s shoes and not do what you don’t like to be done to you.

Human beings, due to our humanitarian condition, must treat each other with delicacy, respect and extreme care. You should never think badly of others, we must be kind and generous without being wasteful, arrogant or greedy. In our expressions we must never have traits of violence or arrogance, we must always try to show sincerity and benevolence.

This brings me to the second virtue and the one that I consider the most important when it comes to sealing a social pact. This must be connected with the sense of reciprocity as a golden rule, otherwise, it would lose its attribute. We talk about benevolence: it is the behavior of humans with respect to others. Good behavior always infects humanity. Notice how the first two virtues, humanity and benevolence, interrelate all the time.

Selfishness is the other side of the coin that marks benevolence. The way we behave in front of others reflects who we really are. A behavior defines and delineates the behavior of humans.

An adequate social conduct must always be nourished by the expressions, behavior and wills of those who live in that society. therefore, we see the third virtue that I consider radical for the social contract.

It is about from the knowledge of Reason, from Merit: but what is merit? For me, it is a sacrifice that is expressed as concern for the future of others and for my own. Knowledge. This as the power of human reason. This as the sure way to achieve virtue and examine the truth through doubt. Knowledge is power.

Therefore, the third element is knowledge, knowledge through merit, is the effort to stand out and achieve a prosperous society.

This applies to both a person and an organization. In this way, it is urgent to constitute an exemplary government, it is a meritocratic government, a government of the best. Thinking of a government of the best by virtue of knowledge thanks to merit will feed on kind, responsible and educated rulers; and society will see that the rulers have wisdom, benevolence and quality where they will be attracted and encouraged to imitate them.

A government of the best is the best example for a society, always preaching with action before words. He must rule by virtue of the interests of the people, and if the people consider that their interests are not protected or represented by them, they have the right to reveal themselves.

This demands the present, a people that reveals itself in the best sense of the term and demands its rulers, those of the past and those of now, that once and for all manage to generate a social pact that orders our society and allows us to follow a clear and virtuous course.
