The suspects in the murder of a girl in Kostroma were looking for a boy as a victim

Two men who abducted a five-year-old girl on the street in Kostroma, abused and killed her, were looking for a boy victim. According to Izvestia, the attackers said during interrogation that they allegedly did not plan to kill the girl. According to them, for several days they were looking for a boy of 10-11 years old on the street to commit a crime.

Not finding a suitable, in their opinion, boy, they noticed a five-year-old girl on the street and abducted her. It is noted that the attackers planned to keep the girl at home, subjecting her to violence.

According to preliminary information, one of the malefactors had a tendency to homosexual relationships, the other has mental retardation, he studied at a special school.

The crime took place on January 4th. The child went out for a walk on the street of Severnaya Pravda in the city of Kostroma. From there the girl was taken by two men and disappeared. Investigators and criminologists of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia in the Kostroma region, police officers, volunteers of the Liza Alert detachment took part in the search for the child. The suspects and the child’s body were found in one of the city dormitories.

As Izvestia found out, 44-year-old Denis G. and 24-year-old Vadim B. abused the child before the murder, after which they hid the body in a gym bag to get rid of it later, but were detained by the police.

One of the suspects, who confessed to the crime, had previously served a sentence for a crime against sexual inviolability and trafficking in pornography.

The Main Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Kostroma Region opened a criminal case into the murder of a girl on the grounds of a crime under paragraph “c” of Part 2 of Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Murder of a minor”). The head of the RF IC, Alexander Bastrykin, demanded an operational report on the progress of the investigation.
