400 passengers stuck at Sheremetyevo due to flight delays to Cuba

A flight to the resort town of Varadero in Cuba was delayed at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo airport. As a result, 400 passengers have been waiting for the plane to take off for more than 12 hours.

The flight was delayed due to technical problems.

“There is a starting system that starts the engine at Sheremetyevo airport, at Havana airport, and at many other airports. Varadero airport does not have this system. The aircraft will fly to Varadero and will stay there, because there is no launch system, ”- this is how they explained to the citizens the fact that they have not been able to fly away for many hours.

According to an airport representative, Sheremetyevo learned about the plane’s malfunction only on the eve of the flight. Tourists are offered to take a plane to Havana or refuse to travel to Cuba altogether.

Passenger Maria told Izvestia that she had been at the airport for more than 12 hours.

“The departure was originally supposed to be at 5:30, then it was postponed to 14:30. Actually, from 12 o’clock we are here. Each time they say that they carry it over. From the very beginning they say that the plane is out of order, ”the tourist shared.

Earlier on Thursday, it became known that 90 passengers were kicked out of the airport in Kaluga at night. Air passengers tried to fly to Simferopol, but could not do this due to the breakdown of the aircraft. At the same time, the airline did not provide passengers with food or accommodation in an emergency.
