A neurologist spoke about the dangers of a sharp rise after waking up

After waking up, a person should not get up abruptly, it is better to lie in bed for a while. This was announced on Friday, January 7, by the neurologist, reflexologist of the highest category and manual therapist Igor Orlov.

“The abrupt transition from horizontal to vertical position is a load on blood circulation. There is an outflow of blood from the brain, dizziness sets in, a person can lose balance, fall, get injured, “Orlov said in an interview with Sputnik radio.

According to him, this phenomenon is called orthostatic collapse, which means a sharp loss of pressure due to a sudden transition from a horizontal position to a vertical one, while a person may even lose consciousness.

Orlov advised to linger in bed after waking up and do sipping exercises in a horizontal position.

“Usually they pull the toes and feet towards themselves, you can stretch in the hip joints, in the knees, arch your back, throw your arms back, stretch your neck,” the neurologist clarified.

At the same time, he warned that such physical activities will not replace morning exercises for healthy people, with the exception of those who are forced to comply with bed rest and cannot fully move.

At the same time, when stretching, there should be no pain, all movements should be smooth, concluded Igor Orlov.

On November 16, therapist Nadezhda Chernyshova said that morning exercises will help to maintain performance during the cold season. According to her, physical activity decreases in cold weather.

According to a study by the Zarplata.ru service, with the onset of the cold season, people’s work capacity decreases, it becomes more difficult to get up in the morning, there is a sense of lethargy and lack of energy.
