These are the 5 habits that I want to recommend:
HOLY HOUR: Implement your Holy Hour
Every profession has activities or tasks that are essential for it but that are often hidden or covered among the dozens of tasks and distractions that we have throughout the day.
In this habit, the first step is to define “that or those tasks” (there are never more than two) that mark your career and dedicate “A daily sacred hour”. This produces what is called in finance the compound effect and it is what will produce you exponential results that you will notice already in the first 100 days of its implementation.

Let’s go to some examples of “sacred hours”:
- If you are an advisor, agent or salesperson, your sacred hour will be “1 hour of prospecting” The “1 hour meeting with a client” And it has to be each and every weekday.
- If you are an entrepreneur, your sacred hour could be “1 hour optimizing the product or some process” and also “1 hour prospecting.”
- The above applies if you are a freelancer or independent professional.
Some numbers that impact the “power of the sacred hour”: if for example you chose to dedicate the hour to meet with clients, by the end of the year you would have met with more than 240 clients or you would have had 240 hours of prospecting if you had chosen to allocate them to it . Do you know how much time an entrepreneurial advisor or salesperson spends prospecting? Only 40 minutes a week.
Try it the first quarter of this year and compare it with your first quarter of 2021 and then you will decide with data in hand.
Build the “give up” muscle
Many times we think about incorporating new habits but not about abandoning bad ones. One of the habits that leaders carry out each year is to define what habit or activity are they going to give up, but they start first with a good but very small one to “exercise the muscle of giving up” and see what they are capable of “giving up”.
Prepare your material in advance (if it is the night before, much better)
When I arrive at my desk in the morning, I have the list of clients and prospects to call, the open article that I have to finish or the presentation that I have to give that day. That way, I can’t skip it and I don’t waste time searching or preparing things to run.
Partner with people who make you improve
The proverb in the ancient world was: “If you live with a lame man, you will learn to limp.”
In his book Atomic Habits, James Clear talks about the importance of who you surround yourself with. “One of the most effective things you can do to create better habits is to join a culture in which your desired behavior is normal.”, escribe Clear.
It is vital that you identify what behavior or skill you want to acquire this year.
Free up valuable resources
If you want to achieve important things, you have to abandon others. One of the reasons I don’t watch the news or walk on social media is so I don’t obsess over things outside of my control and have more free time for what I can control.
This was my 2021 quit habit. As a result, I had 2 more productive hours a day that I was able to dedicate to my family, my business, and reading and learning.
It’s amazing how much time news and social media consume us, and how they affect our mood.
I suggest you try a week without news or social networks and evaluate for yourself the results, both in resources released and in degree of happiness and recover your personal power at the same time.
My suggestion is to incorporate a habit of these mentioned every 3 weeks starting with “the sacred hour”, I have no doubts that it will help you transform 2022 into the best year of your last decade.
