In Bashkiria, 11 people were sent to a medical facility after they breathed in chlorine in one of the pools. This was reported on January 8 by the Republican Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Two people were taken to intensive care, nine – to the toxicology department of the hospital.
“The Main Directorate of the EMERCOM of Russia in the Republic of Bashkortostan received a message that 11 people had previously inhaled chlorine in the village. Yasnaya Polyana, Iglinsky District, St. Coniferous, 2, in the bath complex “Domashny”. All 11 people were hospitalized. Two are in intensive care, nine people are in the toxicology department, ”the message says.
The exact number of victims is currently being established. The department noted that “previously, more chlorine was released into the pool than necessary.”
On January 3, it became known that nine children were hospitalized with suspicion of chlorine vapor poisoning in Omsk. It was noted that families with children visited the “Paradise Lagoon” sports and recreation complex, after which the parents noted that the children were feeling worse and turned to doctors. As a result, the minors were hospitalized, the condition of three of them is assessed as moderate.
The sports and recreation center itself declined to comment on the situation, saying that a check was underway at the moment.
On the fact of the incident, a criminal case was initiated on the grounds of a crime under Art. 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Provision of services that do not meet the requirements of the safety of life and health of consumers”).
