In the Kemerovo region, investigators opened a criminal case after the death of four guests of the Golden Age boarding house for the elderly as a result of a fire. This was announced on Saturday, January 8, by the press service of the regional Investigative Committee.

“On this fact, the investigative bodies of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Kemerovo Region – Kuzbass have initiated a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Art. 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Provision of services that do not meet safety requirements, resulting in the death of two or more persons by negligence”), “- said in a message on the website of the regional department.

It is noted that a fire started in the utility room of the Kuzbass boarding house, and a fire alarm went off. After the rescuers who arrived at the scene extinguished the fire, found the bodies of three men and one woman with no signs of life, they were in different rooms close to the fire, the UK said.

The press service said that the preliminary cause of the fire could be a malfunction of the electrical wiring. At present, a forensic and fire-technical expertise has been assigned to establish the causes of death of the victims, as well as to determine the causes of the fire, the report says.

Investigators said that the identity of the entrepreneur-owner of the boarding house was established, the department employees also work with him, including the documents that are important for the investigation were seized.

Investigative actions aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the incident continue.

Earlier on Saturday, it was reported that the regional prosecutor had left for the place of the fire in Kuzbass, and the supervisory authority began an investigation into the death of people in the fire.

The fire in the boarding house “Golden Age” in the SNT “Pechatnik” in Kuzbass occurred on the evening of January 7. Information about the fire was received by the Emergencies Ministry at 23:02 Moscow time. Personal belongings caught fire on an area of ​​10 sq. m.

48 people were evacuated, including 46 guests and two nurses. The victims of the emergency were four bedridden guests: Valery K., born in 1953, Vyacheslav S., born in 1957, Dmitry A., born in 1974, and Zoya M., born in 1934. It is noted that the nurses on duty could not take them out of the building, as a result, they were poisoned by the products of combustion.

According to data from open sources, the boarding house is commercial and is intended for round-the-clock stay of the elderly.
