A policeman died as a result of shooting near Kurgan

In the Kurgan region, one officer of the Mishkinskoye police station was killed and another was wounded as a result of the shooting at an official car, which was opened by a local resident. On January 8, the regional prosecutor’s office reported this.

“It was established that on the night of January 8, 2022, a local resident fired shots at a UAZ police car, which was near the police station, from a rifled gun. As a result, one police officer was killed on the spot, and another was injured, ”the message says.

It is noted that “during the suppression of the unlawful actions of the attacker and his arrest, he received bodily harm, from which he died”.

A criminal case was initiated on the fact of the incident. The regional prosecutor’s office organized an inspection of compliance with the requirements of the federal legislation on weapons. The Russian MIA Administration for the Kurgan Region clarifies that the attack was carried out by a previously convicted man born in 1977.

The deceased 26-year-old police sergeant Denis Mikhalev worked in the internal affairs bodies since May 2020.

“He proved himself on the positive side, possessed high efficiency, a sense of responsibility for the task entrusted to him, and was respected among colleagues,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs said in a statement.

Mikhalev is survived by a wife and two sons. The policeman’s family will be assisted.

A junior police sergeant was hospitalized with a wound in a medical facility.

On December 29, it became known that in the Stavropol Territory, a court arrested for two months a doctor who arranged a shooting in a hospital in Svetlograd. The incident took place the day before. The doctor came to the medical facility in order to find out the relationship with his wife, who works at the hospital. The man fired several times from the weapon he had brought with him at the door and walls.
