Finally, it is worth highlighting another very current and growing danger, which, although it does not correspond to harassment, its statistics are very worrying. Although gambling and betting are prohibited for minors under 18 years of age, Child and adolescent users manage to participate by creating fake profiles. This is difficult for companies and the State to control.

Today there is a legal framework that regulates the aforementioned crimes, even at the end of July this year, through Decree 710/2024. With it, the creation of the Artificial Intelligence Unit Applied to Security (UIAAS) to prevent, detect, investigate and prosecute cybercrimes and their connections, through the use of “AI”. This will allow patrolling social networks, applications and Internet sites, even in the “Dark Web”in order to investigate crimes and identify their perpetrators, as well as to detect possible situations that represent a serious risk to security.

The correct implementation and development of this measure could actively collaborate in investigations, optimizing the times of identification, capture and dismantling of persons or organizations that carry out the crimes described above. Likewise,There are parental controls, technological tools that allow you to digitally restrict or block inappropriate content, on platforms and operating systems.

The primary and most important protection is dialogue and adult controlwhether they are family members, guardians, teachers, and all those who are in contact with the children. It is essential to have knowledge of what they do and who they contact through digital means.and be alert to any behavior (especially emotional or attitudinal) that indicates that you may be dealing with a victim of these or other crimes.
