The Moscow prosecutor’s office summed up the results of the fight against crime in the capital last year. The department published the relevant data on its Telegram channel on Monday, January 10.
The prosecutor’s office noted that 143,259 crimes were committed in Moscow in 2021, which is 2.1% less than in 2020, RT reports.
50,677 (-4.6%) crimes were committed in public places, including 29,511 (-3.9%) – on the streets.
According to the ministry, in the capital last year there were 359 (-23.6%) robberies, 1784 (-23.7%) cases of robbery, 41,156 (-4.6%) frauds, 61,548 (+2, 4%) thefts, including 460 (-34.1%) from apartments, 758 (-25.7%) – from cars.
Most of the offenses were observed in the Central Administrative District – 20 184. This is 2.4% less than in 2020. The smallest number of crimes occurred in Zelenograd (3414), NSN reports.
The number of violations of traffic rules (SDA) and the operation of vehicles in the megalopolis decreased by 2.8% to 619 in 2021. At the same time, the number of fatal accidents amounted to 151. The increase was 10.2%, reports the city news agency “Moscow” …
On December 24, the Moscow State Traffic Safety Inspectorate reported that 404 accidents involving drunk drivers were registered in Moscow in 11 months of 2021, in which 53 people died and 525 injured.
In November, the traffic police said that the main causes of road accidents among novice drivers are the wrong choice of distance and the inconsistency of speed with specific driving conditions. Also, the mistakes of novice drivers included non-observance of the sequence of passage, violation of the rules for passing the pedestrian crossing and the rules for rebuilding.
